Architect’s Services

I work on a variety of residential projects for domestic clients, including refurbishments, internal alterations and extensions. I have experience in a range of residential projects, from new-build to renovation and worked with both speculative house-builders and housing associations.

I have 10 years of experience in the Architecture profession, having worked in a variety of practices in Glasgow, including Davis Duncan (which later amalgamated into the UK’s largest practice – Archial) where I worked for five years until I gained my chartership. I then worked on a self employed basis with a friend for several years during the recession where I worked on more residential projects, where my work included renovations and extensions, as well as some new-build houses. Whilst self employed I had a particular interest in ecologically sound housing and was able to specialise more in this with residential clients.

I returned to full-time employment at Nimmo and Partners and then the ID Partnership for short periods, before finally moving to the Unum Partnership. In these practices I have worked on some commercial and healthcare projects, but again generally focussed on housing. I left The Unum Partnership in July 2017 to work self-employed full-time and work with a variety of clients.

I am a Chartered Architect registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) which governs all architects in the UK. I carry £250,000 of personal professional indemnity insurance (rather than with my company), which is sufficient to cover most domestic projects.

Additional information for Domestic clients

I am also aware of the increasing complexity of construction, particularly in regards to the sustainability agenda, and am aware of the challenge this it must be for a domestic client to come to terms with the options available and try to make informed decisions. I try to provide some additional information to suit the needs of domestic clients, to give some information which I believe to be objective. For this information, please refer to the Blog and the Eco-Essentials sections on the website.
